Judith M Rainville, age 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Wausau Manor.
She was a devoted family member whose caring nature touched generations of her family. Throughout the years, Judy lovingly cared for her many nieces and nephews, as well as their children. She was always present for the children in her family, offering her time, love, and support. She never missed their school programs, birthday parties, or social events.
Juju was the best babysitter! She allowed late bedtimes on Saturday nights to watch Solid Gold, with plenty of dancing in the living room and midnight snacks. Her purse was never off limits and always carried treasures—Kleenex, playing cards, candy, Juicy Fruit gum, and plenty of quarters for the horse rides at Kmart and train rides at Marathon Park. These little traditions created memories that her family will treasure forever.
Judy shared a lifelong bond with her mother, Ione, whom she lovingly cared for until the time of Ione’s passing. Their relationship was a special part of Judy’s life and reflected the deep love and devotion she had for her family.
Judy also had two very special companions, her beloved dogs, Sassy and Sambo, who were truly her babies. There is comfort in knowing that Judy has now been reunited with her fur babies.
Judy was a graduate of Wausau High School, where she later dedicated 35 years of her life working as a custodian. She was especially fond of Dr. Bradley Peck, who served as a mentor to her over the years.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ione and Charles Rainville; her sisters, Charlotte Bailey, Patricia Drury, and Susan Rainville; her brother, Michael Rainville; and brothers-in-law, Robert Drury and Michael Van Rixel.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Van Rixel of Wausau and Jane Rainville of Merrill; her brother, Charlie Rainville of Wausau; sisters-in-law, Tina Rainville of Merrill and Claire Rainville of Wausau; brother-in-law, Bill Bailey of Oklahoma; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family members, and friends.
Judy will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her generous and caring heart, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her presence in the lives of her family will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever.
A visitation will be held from 12 PM -1 PM on Tuesday October 6, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 611 Stark Street, Wausau, WI 54403 with a funeral Mass beginning at 1 PM with Rev. Tom Lindner presiding. Burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park at 2:15 PM and luncheon to follow back at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Judy’s nieces, Melanie and Kim, would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Aspirus Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Judy and her family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society in Judy’s honor, reflecting her lifelong love of animals.
Judy may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts.
We love you, JuJu!!
