Judith A. Masanz

Judith A. Masanz 57, 1004 Hickory Street, Marathon passed peacefully Sunday, December 30, 2007 at her home. She was born April 27, 1950 in Wausau, daughter of the late Elmer and Theresa (Golla) Bergs. On October 2, 1971 she married Allen Masanz at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He survives. For over 39 years Judy worked at Wausau Insurance/Liberty Mutual. As an avid golfer she and Allen traveled to many destinations to see many of the great players and also enjoy the beautiful golf courses around the United States. Besides golfing she enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico or hopping on a cruise ship to take in the beauty that the Caribbean has to offer but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family. Judy was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband Allen, Marathon, her two sons, Neil (Hollie) Masanz, and her children Wyatt and Valarie, Kronenwetter and Randy Masanz, Marathon, two brothers, John (Margo) Bergs, Rib Falls and Richard Bergs, Marathon, her mother-in-law, Ethel Masanz, Schofield, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Tosca Bergs, North Augusta, South Carolina, Marlyn (Judy) Masanz, Rib Mountain, Dale (Mike) Masanz, Edgar, Ronald (Karen) Masanz, Neenah and Kris (DuWayne) Merkes, Edgar along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Bergs and her father-in-law, Joseph Masanz. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
