Judith L. Chaignot

Judith "Judy" L. Chaignot 72, Wausau, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends, on Monday, August 20, 2012, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. She was born September 26, 1939 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Louis and Joyce (White) Major. On December 29, 1962 she married Duane Chaignot in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1985. Judy worked in the housekeeping department at Wausau Manor for more than 10 years. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1982. Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, tending to her flower beds, camping and bowling. Judy was very devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Michael (Lynn) Chaignot, Wausau, Michelle Chaignot, Wausau and Richelle (Thomas) Brandt, Menasha, four grandchildren, Steven Brandt, Benjamin (Jazmin) Brandt and Shari and Kyle Roach, three great grandchildren, Alexis Brandt, Rajeigh and Javon Roach, one sister, Pat Major, Wausau and one brother Albert "Bert" (Sue) Major, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. The Rev. David Rybicki will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services all the Stewart Avenue Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Judy's name. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield and Ministry Home Care Hospice for all their care and support.
