Joyce E. Manowski

Joyce E. Manowski 82, Wausau died Sunday March 25, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by family & friends. She was born November 28, 1929 in Wausau, daughter of the late Anton and Leona (Salzman) Slagoski. On September 11, 1948 she married John Manowski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1997. Joyce worked at the former Marathon Battery, Dixie Cream Donut Shop, Kreger Bakery, YMCA and the Shoppers Guide. Joyce & her husband John previously owned & operated John's Bar, know known as B&R's. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #10, Wausau. Joyce was very special and sweet to all who knew her, a second "mom" to many and always thought of others before herself. She was strong in her faith, loved playing cards, watching baseball and spending time with family & friends. She will be truly missed. Survivors include her children, John L. (Special friend, Sylvia) Manowski, Rhinelander, David (Helen) Manowski, Kamiah, Idaho, Randy (Debi) Manowski, Sacramento, CA and Daniel (Karen) Manowski, Wausau, four grandchildren, Jade (Lonnie) Rogers, San Francisco, John J. (Kim) Manowski, Wausau, Kristin (Karl) Koeppel, Kronenwetter and Jason Manowski, Wausau, four great grandsons, Darrin, Jordan, Devon, Eyon and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her 1st great granddaughter. Joyce is further survived by her siblings, Alvera Rowe and Deloris Brown, both of Wausau and Jeanette Jirgl, Mosinee, Tom (Sandy) Slagoski, Tripoli and Mike Slagoski, Wausau and one sister-in-law, Sue Slagoski, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Ronald and Gerald Slagoski. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 31, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Joyce's name.
