Joyce M. Henrichs, 81, town of Hamburg, entered the gates of heaven on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was born on January 7, 1933 to the late Lawrence and Arlene (Auner) Augustine in the township of Halsey.
She was baptized on January 27, 1933 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens and was later confirmed on April 14, 1946. Her confirmation verse was John 6:68 "Simon Peter answered Him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.'" She attended and graduated from Athens High School, where as a freshman, she met her soul mate, LaVerne Henrichs.
She married LaVerne on September 3, 1955 in Pine City, Minnesota. Together they built a home in the township of Hamburg, where the Lord blessed them with seven boys. Joyce worked at Wausau Insurance Company for 48 years before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking, doing crafts, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered and missed by her devoted husband of 59 years, LaVerne Henrichs; four children, Mike (Julie) Henrichs, Mark (Tammy) Henrichs, Tim (Stacy) Henrichs and Todd (Michelle) Henrichs; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Blasky, Shawn (Kate) Henrichs, Scott Henrichs, Michelle (Aaron) Henrichs, Taylor Henrichs, Morgan Henrichs, Matthew Bell and Michael Bell; ten great-grandchildren, Korbyn, Kody, Karsyn, Connor, Jayden, Travis, Kamryn, Jesse, Kendra and Jordan; one sister, Alvira Henrichs; two brothers, Dale (Pat) Augustine and David (Ruth Ann) Augustine; sister-in-law, Mavis (Eldred) Nehrbass; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by three infant sons; her loving parents; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Joe Mullins, Emery and Delores Henrichs, Arlene and James Voight, Wallace Henrichs, Elton Henrichs and Haron Henrichs; and her parents-in-law, Leslie and Minnie Henrichs.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Rev. James Klug will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
