Joseph A. Winetzki, 82, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Wausau Manor.
He was born September 28, 1935 in Wausau son of the late Joseph and Florence (Seefeldt) Winetzki.
Joseph served his country in the United States Navy serving as an intelligence officer in Hawaii and Japan. His family made "The Finest Home Made Chocolates in the World" at the Winetzki Candy Store on Second Street for many years. He also established the Third Order of St. Francis of Assisi in Wausau. Joseph traveled around the world with his family and loved taking ships and trains. He was a friend to all and helped many during their time of need.
Survivors include his sister, Joanne Winetzki, Redwood City, California; friend, Jean Hohman, Redwood City, California; closest friend, Shirley Meuret, Wausau; friends, Dean (Timothy Stumpf) Hanke, Madison; special son, Hong Sheng, Shanghai.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several favorite aunts and uncles.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Oratory. Canon Aaron Huberfeld will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
