Joseph J. Urmanski
71, 3407 Blue Jay Lane, Wausau, died Saturday September 21, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 16, 1931 in Edgar, son of Helen (Pietrowski) Urmanski, Edgar, and the late Joe Urmanski. On May 22, 1954 he married Elsie Plover in Philadelphia. She survives.
Joseph was a veteran of the US Army servimg during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, was a church usher and also drove school bus for 13 years.
Survivors besides his wife, Elsie Urmanski, Wausau, and Mother, Helen Urmanski, Edgar, include a daughter, Debra Ann Rodda, Wausau, two grandchildren, Joseph Barttelt and Heather Barttelt, three brothers, Richard (Jeanette) Urmanski, Edgar, James (Rita) Urmanski, Edgar and Francis (Geraldine) Urmanski, Tomahawk, two sisters, Patricia (George) Niewolny, Wausau and Helen (Norbert) Paul, Wausau.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Urmanski and a daughter, Cynthia Jean Urmanski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 25, 2002 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
