Joseph F. Rauen

Joseph F. Rauen 84, 1328 County Rd. H, Edgar, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at his home under the care of Marshfield Ministry Home Care. He was born June 15, 1920 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Frank and Mary (Meyer) Rauen. On June 22, 1948, he married Barbara Mallak at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She survives. Joseph farmed the family homestead and retired in 1987. The family farm is still in operation by his son, Duane. Joseph drove school bus for Leonard Reiche and Marathon schools. He later drove bus for Ray Fischer Bus Service, Fenwood, for the Edgar School District. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski, where he served on the Parish Council, Church Finance Committee, and annual church picnic reunion committee. Joseph was also a lifelong member of the Catholic Society Order of Foresters. Joseph enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, bird-watching, backroads sight-seeing, traveling, playing cards and spending time on the farma
