Joseph L. Kiselicka Sr.
92, Abbotsford, died Friday September 28, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care, Marshfield.
He was born September 8, 1915, in Milwaukee, son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Ambra) Kiselicka. On January 18, 1947, he married Miriam Benzing at St. Ann Catholic Church, Milwaukee. She survives.
Joseph was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific and on Iwo Jima. In his earlier years he worked in the CCC Camps and enjoyed playing the accordian, having been in several small bands in Milwaukee. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and of both the Rosary and Altar Society at St. Mary Roman Catholic Oratory in Wausau.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam (Benzing) Kiselicka, Abbotsford, eight children, Anthony J. (Suzanne) Kiselicka, Perkinstown, Joseph L. Kiselicka Jr., East Troy, Kathleen (Wiley) Sparks, Abbotsford, Andrew C. (Sharon) Kiselicka, West Bend, Dennis (Janet) Kiselicka, New Berlin, Miriam A. (Charles) Ostermann, Coleman, Daniel S. Kiselicka, Medford, Theresa E. (Kevin) Leow, New Berlin, 30 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday October 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Oratory, 325 Grand Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Glenn Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church. There will be a rosary service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
