Joseph P. Heindl
81, Marathon died Friday, September 16, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
Joe was born August 1, 1930 in Marathon, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Florence (Milbeck) Heindl. On May 30, 1951 he married Dolores Zweck at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives.
Joseph worked at the former Hanz Construction Co. in Wausau for 25 years, was the co-owner of the Heindl Mink Ranch in Marathon with his wife Dolores and also worked at the former White House Creamery in Marathon for more than 20 years. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting, spending time with his family but most of all he cherished the time he spent at his cottage on Forest Lake near Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin. Joe was also an avid Brewers fan and loved to follow Marathon high school sports.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Heindl, Marathon, his children, Lynne Heindl, Marathon, Steven Heindl, San Jose, California, Larry (Bernie) Heindl, Marathon and JoAnn (Mark) Phillips, Mosinee, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Joe is further survived by his two brothers, Jerry (Rita) Heindl, Wausau and Jay (Bonnie) Heindl, Kronenwetter and his two sisters, Dorothy (Al) Roelig, Kaukauna and Nancy (Jim) Brouchard, Wausau.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and Gary and one brother Patrick.
A mass to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Joseph's name.
