Joseph S. Hart 85, R5957 Pioneer Road, Athens, died Sunday, December 7, 2003 in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. He was born May 7, 1918 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late John and Louise (Mroczenski) Hart. On June 22, 1946, he married Mildred Eisenhut at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She survives. Joseph worked for Borchardt & Stremer in Athens, and later was a bus driver and mechanic for Eder & Gorke School Bus Service for 20 years until the time of his retirement. He was a life long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens serving as usher and mass server. Joseph was on the Athens Area Development Association for 23 years, Calvary Cemetery Association and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Besides fishing, reading and being with his grandchildren, Joe enjoyed doing woodworking and making many items for the church and family. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hart, Athens, includes his children, Robert Hart, Madison, Donald (Peggy) Hart, Ventura, Calif., Norbert (Mary) Hart, Rothschild, and Kathleen (David) Kulas, Athens; daughter-in-law, Jacci Gamble, Kimberling City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; siblings, Sister M. Bertilia, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Anne (Matthew) Kwiecinski, Skokie, Ill, Agnes Hoth, Wheeling, Ill, Sophie (Floyd) Braun, Athens, Rose Mary (Jerry) Edwards, Plainfield, Ill, Frances (Adrian) Albrecht and Edmund (Leona) Hart both of Wittenberg, Gregory (Patricia) Hart, Athens, and Raymond (Kathie) Hart, Darrien, Ill. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Hart and one brother and sister-in-law, John (Adeline) Hart. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the church.
