Joseph "Joey" Falkowski
69, R8421 Duncan Road, Hatley, died Friday November 4, 2005 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born November 20, 1935 in Beaver, Wisc., son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Migacz) Falkowski. On May 25, 1963 he married Janet Dittbrender in Wausau. She survives.
For many years, Joey had been employed at Wausau Iron Works as a welder and from 1974 until his retirement, he was a welder for the Ironworkers Union. He enjoyed playing the concertina, deer hunting, gardening and an occaisional trip to the casino.
Survivors include his wife, Janet, his children, Karen Frederick, town of Norrie, Allen Falkowski, Marathon, Leon (Jennifer) Falkowski, Ringle, grandchildren, Keela, Kullen, Hunter and Alex; three sisters, Elaine Hanke, Schofield, Patricia (Tony) Mijal, Green Bay, Joanie (Norman) Ostrowski, Pewaukee, one brother, Bobby (Geri) Falkowski, Hatley, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Sandy Ostrowski.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Monday November 7, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Pastor Steve Foster will officiate. Friends may call on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Strick, Dr. Ahuja, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, the nurses at the Cancer Center and to the Hospice nurse Christie for the outstanding care and compassion extended to Joey.
