Joseph Boser

Joseph Boser, 98, Marathon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, under the wonderful care of North Central Health Care Facility, Wausau. He was born August 25, 1916 in the town of Wien, son of the late Mathias and Mary (Wirkus) Boser. On June 13, 1939, he married Rosalyn Ellenbecker at St. John Catholic Church, Wuertzberg. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2013. Survivors include, one son, Leroy Boser, Indiana; four daughters, Carol (Steve) Rood, Oregon, Joann (Joseph) Habelt, Arkansas, Joyce (Russ) Greiber, Milwaukee and Alice (David) Springer, Marathon; nine grandchildren, Sherry, Jason, Jeff, Michelle, Lisa, Marcus, Trevor, Troy and Sarah; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita Boser; and one sister-in-law, Adeline Boser. Besides his parents and wife, Rosalyn, he was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Mary Boser; one brother, Omer Boser; four sisters, Katherine Kosciesza, Marion Seefeldt, Delores Callan and Lorraine Karlen; seven brothers-in-law, Robert Kosciesza, Ernie Seefeldt, James Callan, Alex Karlen, George Ellenbecker, Joseph Bargender and Lawrence Lake; and three sisters-in-law, Leona Ellenbecker, Marie Bargender and Magdalene Lake. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic School or St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon.
