Joseph Belter

Joseph Belter 97, Edgar, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford. He was born October 17, 1908 in Marathon County, son of the late Frank & Mary (Brodjeski) Belter. On June 26, 1933, he married Mary Milkowski at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She preceded him in death on March 14, 1994. Joseph worked at Kraft Foods, Milan for 27 years until retiring n 1978. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Packer fan. Survivors include one sister, Bernice Janikowski; one brother, Ervin Belter; one daughter-in-law, Ethel Belter, Medford; many nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday November 12, 2005, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Belter, a sister and brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens assisted the family with arrangements.
