Joseph L. Alsteen, Sr

Joseph L. Alsteen, Sr. 72 of Wausau, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at his residence under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Joseph was born September 21, 1938 in Rhinelander, son of the late Louis and Sarah (Gathier) Alsteen. Following his education Joe was employed as a farmer on a dairy farm. His hobbies included small engine repair and fishing. Survivors include one son: Joseph (Melissa Borman) Alsteen, Jr., Wausau; one daughter Rebecca Alsteen, Wausau and his 12 grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers: Jerome Alsteen, Rhinelander; Ronald Alsteen Rhinelander; Merle Alsteen , Athens and one sister Roseanne Alsteen, Redwood, CA. and a long time campanion, his dog Cha Cha. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. A private committal service will take place at a later date in Rhinelander. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
