John J. Wianecki

John J. Wianecki, 64, Merrill, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home after a 13 month battle with cancer.

He was born July 29, 1960, in Wausau, son of Rosemary (Raymond) Wianecki and the late Joseph Wianecki.

For over 25 years John worked at Kolbe and Kolbe Millwork followed by part time at Fleet Farm.  He enjoyed bow and rifle hunting, fishing in Canada with his dad and riding his motorcycle.  He was a member of the Trail Mates Snowmobile Club and loved snowmobiling especially in Upper Michigan.

Survivors include his mother, Rosemary Wianecki; sister, Debra (Rick) Clemens; nieces, Christy (Steve) Murkowski and Cara (Dakota) Klinger; great-nephew, Joseph Klinger and great-nieces, Haley Klinger and Elizabeth Klinger; numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Visitation will be 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau.  Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter.
