John E. Walker Jr

John E. Walker Jr. 66 , Athens, died Saturday May 3, 2008 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born August 24, 1941 in town of Ashippun, Dodge County, son of the late John E. and Edna M. (Alswager) Walker Sr. On October 28, 1967 he married Caroline L. Clough in Hartford, Wisconsin. She survives. John was a dairy farmer his entire life and moved to the town of Hamburg in 1998. He enjoyed the simple things in life, especially dancing and fishing. John will be remembered for his efforts in helping found the Neosho County Christian School in Neosho, Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife, Caroline, Athens; four children, Kevin Walker, Wausau, Jeff (Ann) Walker, Thomas Walker and Kimberly Conley, all of Athens; four grandchildren, Sterling, Christian and Haley Conley and Brittany Garett; two foster children, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Carr. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Tues. May 6, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Tues. from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
