John P. Pagel

John P. Pagel 65, Wausau, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born July 12, 1944 in Wausau, son of the late Erwin and Margaret (Burns) Pagel. On July 24, 1981, he married Patricia Roach in Wausau. She survives. John was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked for 3-M Corporation, Wausau from 1969 until his retirement in 2003. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include, his wife, Patty Pagel, Wausau; three children, Lisa (Gary) Hettinga and Scott (Betsy) Pagel, both of Schofield and Chad (Sarah) Pagel, Wausau; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Madison, Dakota, Dallas and Daytona; seven siblings, Ellen Bogen, Wausau, Jim (Rita) Pagel, Marathon, Lee (Ginny) Pagel, Ringle, Tom (Sue) Pagel, Kronenwetter, Art Pagel, Wausau, Mary (Norman) Beilke, Wausau and Kate (Dave) Mitchell, Kronenwetter; his mother-in-law, Hazel Roach, Wausau; two sisters-in-law, Kathie (Louie) Reissman, Merrill and Mary Jo (Ron) Osheim, Wausau; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Pagel; and one sister, Margaret Pagel. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
