John R. Myshka
79, 320 So. 5th Avenue, Wausau, died unexpectedly March 13, 2008 at home.
John was born in Wausau November 29, 1928 son of Sy and Margaret (Gohdes) Myshka. He graduated from Wausau High School in 1947 and served stateside in the United States Army from February 1951 until February 1953. On October 7, 1950 he married the love of his life, Mary Mueller, daughter of Emil and Annette Mueller at St. James Catholic Church in Wausau. A devoted husband and father, John and Mary raised a family of five children.
John was employed at Hall Garage in Wausau from his high school years until 1956, working as Parts Manager. From 1956 until his retirement in 1987 John worked as Payroll Supervisor at Marathon Electric in Wausau and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. John was a member of St. Anne's Parish, a member of the Knight's of Columbus and the Wausau Elks Club.
John was a loving man who walked hand in hand with Mary every where they went. He made many road trips to Iowa, Kohler, Arlington Heights and Minneapolis to share in the lives of his children and their families.
In addition to his wife, Mary, John is survived by his five children: Robert Myshka, Cedar Falls, IA; Ann (Ben) Salzmann, Kohler, WI; Kathryn (Paul) Giambeluca , Arlington Heights, IL; Mark (Jamie) Myshka, Wausau, WI; Ron (Cary) Myshka, Savage MN; and nine grandchildren: Andrew (fiancAC. Sabitha Narendran) Salzmann and Emily (Michael) Thiel; Katie, Jake, and John Giambeluca; John Michael and Elizabeth Myshka; Lexi and Joey Myshka. He is further survived by a sister Rosann (James) Redmond, Rolling Meadows, IL and a brother-in-law Gerald Mueller, Wausau, WI, five nieces and five nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother and father in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday March 17, 2008 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden of Eternal Rest, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street Wausau is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in the name of John R. Myshka.
