John A. Lotharius

John A. Lotharius 72, Wausau, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at his home. He was born September 9, 1939 in Rhinelander, son of the late Frank and Genevieve (Collins) Lotharius. On December 31, 1960, he married Kathleen A. Lotharius at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2003. His second marriage was to Pamela (Snodgrass) Edwards on May 16, 2010 at New Day Christian Church, Weston. She survives. In his younger years, John owned and operated a roller rink in Rothschild. Later, he worked in lawn care and landscaping. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include, his wife, Pamela Lotharius, Wausau; eight children, Frank (Emmy) Lotharius, Schofield, Veronica (Chris Smith) Lotharius, Ringle, Michael (Deborah) Lotharius, Merrill, Jacqueline (Derwin) Heil, Kronenwetter, Maria (Hans) Yeskis, Edgar, Christine (Mike) Nevienski, Eland, Kathleen (Jeff) Prins, Rothschild and Nicole (Nathan) Fehlhaber, Edgar; three step-children, Carrie Wright, Arizona, Catherine Edwards, Weston and James Edwards, Wausau; 25 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Larry Potts, Tomahawk. Besides his parents and first wife, Kathleen, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Danielle Lotharius; one great granddaughter, Lila Beth Nevienski; two brothers, Jerome and Bernard Lotharius; and one sister, Violet Reinke. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Pastor Aaron Winowiski will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
