John A. Kosobucki

John A. Kosobucki, 92, Madison, formerly of Weston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Capitol Lakes Terraces, Madison. John was an insurance adjuster and co-owner of Meyer-Peterson Adjustment Company in Wausau. He was a proud graduate of Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy and served as an officer in World War II. John was also a past member of the Wausau Elk's Lodge No. 248 and past president of the Wausau Noon Optimist Club. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau, including the VFW's Last Man's Club. John and his wife, Marilynn, were founding members of St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Survivors include, his daughter, Marlene Kosobucki, Minnesota; his sons, John P. (Terri), Madison, Dennis (Lynette), Solon Springs and Karl (JoAnn), North Carolina; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilynn, in 2003. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Very Reverend Allan L. Slowiak will preside. Full military honors will follow, conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wausau. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the food pantry at The Neighbor's Place, 745 Scott Street, Wausau, WI 54403.
