John C. Koppa
48, Wausau, died Saturday May 16, 2009 at the home of his mother, under the care of Ministry Home Health Care Hospice.
He was born March 10, 1961, in Wausau, son of Alice (Westberg) Koppa, Wausau and the late Edward Koppa.
John had been employed for 14 years at Crystal Finishing. Among his favorite things to do were hunting and fishing, although golf was his true passion. Survivors include his mother, Alice, one daughter, Shauna (James) Telin, Appleton, siblings, Kathleen Maloney, Appleton, Karen (Robert) Ristow, Wausau, Thomas (Jean) Koppa, Madison, nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, John was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Edward Maloney.
Private family services were held Tuesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch officiated. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
A special thank you to Dr. Oswald, Dr. Hartke, the Ministry Health Hospice, Deb, Dawn, Gina, Cindy as well as John's mother, Alice, sister, Karen and niece, Christina for caregiving. Because of all of them, John's wish for dying at home was fulfilled.
