John J. Kelly

John J. Kelly 91, Wausau, died Thursday November 26, 2009 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, Weston. He was born July 17, 1918 in Madison, son of the late Edward and Katherine (Kopp) Kelly. On February 22, 1943, he married Helen "Pete" Guilfoyle in Madison. She preceded him in death April 6, 1990. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, John had been employed an Assessor for the City of Wausau and later for the State of Wisconsin. Survivors include three sons, John Peter Kelly, Madison, Patrick (Roxanne) Kelly, Shoreview, Minn., James (Cheryl) Kelly, Buffalo, Wyo., five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday November 30, 2009 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Evansville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
