John S. Iverson

John S. "Chief" Iverson 72, Athens, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born June 12, 1938 in Elgin, IL the son of the late Bernhardt and Helen (Evenson) Iverson. On March 3, 1958 John married the former Joan Johnson at St Gregory Catholic Church in Chicago. John was employed as an electrician. His hobbies included fishing and cooking. Survivors include his wife Joan Iverson of Athens; one daughter Terri (Peter) Dalsky, Athens; two sons Joseph (Janice) Iverson, Pleasant Prairie, WI and Michael (Catalina) Iverson, Antioch, IL; five grandchildren: Edward, Samantha, Joseph, Andrew and Morgan. He is further survived by one sister Loreli Johnson, Chicago, IL John was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Nicolas John and one brother Ralph. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
