John 'Jack' Gorman
71, Madison, a former Wausau resident, passed away peacefully Monday January 28, 2002 after battling kidney cancer for the past year.
Jack was born on March 8, 1930 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, son of Elsie and Lyle Gorman. He came to Wausau with his parents in childhood and attended Wausau Schools, including the University Extension. Jack enlisted and served as Corporal in the United States Marine Corps in the early 1950s and was honorably discharged in 1959. He married Marcia Nelson on November 24, 1956 and worked as a salesman for the Celotex Corporation for 33 years.
Jack was an avid golfer who played religiously with his good friends and children. He was a caring and loving husband and father who enjoyed long walks with his children and dogs. His family and friends loved his smile and laughter and will never forget the joy he brought to their lives.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marcia, his six children, Kathryn (Matthew) Kyler, Linda, Susan, Nancy, Pat (Laurie) and Teri (Ryan) Shore, his six grandchildren, Lindsay, Luke, Matthew, Nicole, Christina and Saxton.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Friday February 1, 2002 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ,(formerly St. James), Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
