John R. Foley

John R. Foley 68, Wausau died Friday, April 2, 2004 after a long battle with cancer under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at his home. He was born February 21, 1936 in Mellen, son of the late Richard Foley and Ailee (Nelson) Foley, Mellen. In 1957, he married Karen Lauren in Mellen. She survives. John was in the US Marine Corp. He then worked on the railroads and Ore ships on Lake Superior. John received his Masters Degree in Psychology and worked for the Wausau School System as a school Psychologist until till retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Retired Educator Association. Besides his wife, Karen Foley, Wausau and mother, Ailee Foley, Mellen, survivors include his children, Colleen (Gary) Grender, Wausau, Jim (Bonnie) Foley, Stevens Point, Lauri Foley, Wausau, Lynn (Dale) Rochon, Superior and Don Foley, LaCrosse; nine grandchildren, Megan & Tyler Grender, Sidney & Dalton Foley, Lauren & Sawyer Furrer, Scot & Christopher Rochon and Stirling Foley; one sister, Sue Foley, Mellen; three brothers, Dan Foley and Mike Foley both of Mellen and Robert (Serena) Foley, Menomonee. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Foley. Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the Stewart Ave. funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
