John R. Bouvat
83, Wausau died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
He was born November 24, 1928 in Baraga, Michigan, son of the late John E. and Anastasia (Kopanski) Bouvat. On October 1, 1949 he married Alice Koch at St. Paul United Church of Christ. She survives.
John worked at Marathon Electric in Quality Control until his retirement. Some of his favorite pastimes included being with family and friends, hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a past member of the St. Paul's Choir and a member of the Texas Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Alice (Koch) Bouvat, Wausau, his children, Dale (Julie) Bouvat, Rothschild, Sue (Tom) Domka, Wausau and Dennis (Lisa) Bouvat, Plymouth, his grandchildren, Leah (Chad) Pester, Jacksonville, FL., Sarah Bouvat, Green Bay, Connie (Loren) Beyersdorff, Wausau, Rick Domka, Wausau and Bryan and Lauren Bouvat, Plymouth and four great grandchildren and one sister, Audrey Garrett, Harrisburg, PA.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Richard and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held at Noon Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
