Joel Carpenter

Joel Carpenter, 84, Wausau, died Monday August 16, 2004 at Cedar Creek Manor, Mosinee. He was born November 7, 1919 in Humboldt, Sask., Canada, son of the late Joel and Anna (Sass) Carpenter. On June 21, 1941 he married Evelyn Kurth in Wausau. She preceded him in death on January 21, 1987. Joel was an Electrical Contractor in Wausau for many years and was a member of the IBEW, Electrical Contractors Union. He enjoyed traveling, polka music and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Jane (Jeff Howland) Auner, Wausau; three grandchildren, Jenny Auner, Silverthorne, Colo., Jesse (Kori) Auner, Wausau & Charlie Howland, Wausau; four great grandchildren, Christopher, Calvin, Dakotah and Annika; three brothers, Clarence (Jean) Carpenter, Oregon, Wisc., Art Carpenter, Baraboo, Ray (Audrey) Carpenter, Apple Valley, Calif. and one sister-in-law, Elaine Carpenter, Wausau. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Carpenter, a son, Michael J. Carpenter, brothers, Wilfred, Alvin, Norman, Reuben, and a sister, Caroline. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
