Joanne C. Weiss

Joanne C. Weiss 69, 6858 Highway 97, Athens, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 under Ministry Home Care Hospice Services at the House of Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield. She was born November 21, 1936 in Marshfield, daughter of the late Raymond and Arlene (Bell) Zahn. She was united in marriage to James Kerske on September 26, 1959 in Marshfield. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1989. She then married Raymond Weiss on June 6, 1992 in Marshfield. He survives. Joanne had many occupations including, hairdresser, nurses' aide, nursing home housekeeper and hot lunch cook. She enjoyed camping, traveling, working for St. Anthony church and school functions and spending time with her family and friends. She also was an accomplished needle worker. Always being a giving and generous person she freely gave of her time, talents and possessions and will greatly be missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Weiss, Athens, two sisters, Patricia (Victor) Krueger, Pittsville and Mary (Michael) Gordee, Appleton and one brother, Michael Zahn, Marshfield, two nephews, Paul and Eric Gordee and two nieces, Kim Krueger and Keri Kramer. Joanne was also very fond of her great nieces and nephews, Heidi and Rachel Kramer and Ellen, Avery, Calvin and Ian Gordee. Pallbearers will be Paul, Jim and Brian Lavicka, Paul and Eric Gordee and Cheryl Hoffman. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
