Joanne M. Leffel

Joanne M. Leffel Edgar, died Friday, February 15, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born October 22, 1932, in Colby, daughter of the late Nicholas and Laurina (Schill) Gierl. On August 31, 1955, she married Leo Leffel in Colby. He survives. The Leffel's farmed in the town of Frankfort and she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Colby, prior to their retirement. After retirement, they moved to Tomahawk and she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tomahawk. Two years ago they moved to the Edgar area. Joanne was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Survivors include her husband, Leo Leffel, Edgar, her children, Dianne (Tim) Filyaw, Wenatchee, Wash., Dan (Cheryl Brandt) Leffel, Gary (Lynn) Leffel, all of Stratford, Jaclyn (Brian) Luttropp, Peggy Ann (Matthew) Venne, all of Tomahawk, Scott (Missy Millar) Leffel, Menomonie, 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, siblings, Wilbur (Ginger) Gierl, Wausau, Robert (Arlene) Gierl, Michigan, Elaine (Gerald) Hebert, Neshkoro, Kenneth (Judith) Gierl, Medford. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Weds. February 20, 2008 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Visitation will be on Weds. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
