JoAnn (Jansen) Duranceau
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day.
JoAnn has now moved on from her role as a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, to be one with God to enjoy His continual presence. She will live on and continue to be an example to her family and her many friends.
She loved the outdoors, especially her garden and her flowers. JoAnn loved to travel, which included yearly trips to the New Jersey shore, where our great friends, Tim and Betts shared with us the love of the ocean. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii and she told her friends she always wanted to go back. Other memories included trips to Switzerland and Paris, Mexico, Florida and our last trip to Niagara Falls.
JoAnn graduated from Marathon High School and got her Bachelor of Arts from Marion College. She worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a computer analyst. JoAnn loved her job because it consisted primarily in helping others. She was thankful for the many friends that she had at Liberty Mutual and was thankful for the support they showed her during her illness. Prior to working at Liberty Mutual, JoAnn worked at Maine Public School and Linetec. JoAnn enjoyed golf in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. JoAnn rarely missed a day without going for a three-mile walk.
