JoAnn H. Lewandowski 79, Wausau, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born March 15, 1924 in Wisconsin, daughter of the late Nickolas and Anna (Platta) Trzebitoski. On July 6, 1945, she married John Lewandowski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2003.
JoAnn was a member of the Church of the Holy Name Of Jesus, the Ministry of Praise and St. Catherine Council. She was also a eucharistic minister at the hospital and nursing homes for many years. Additionally, JoAnn belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388 Auxillary, Wausau.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Karen) Lewandowski, Wausau and Gary Lewandowski, Superior; two granddaughters, Renee Lewandowski, Shelley Lewandowski; two sisters, Lorraine (Ted) Rubins, Newport Beach, Calif., Theresa (Richard) Richardson, Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Harry (Rosemary) Trez, Ethel, Wash. and Don (Regina) Wanta, Cudahy.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
