Joan L. Puerner

Joan L. Puerner, 89, Wausau died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Ascension St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was born December 14, 1928 in Wausau, daughter of the late Wallace and Agnes (Tetzlaft) Puerner. For many years Joan worked as a nurse anesthetist at the former St. Mary's Hospital in Wausau. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, knitting and being outdoors. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert, Wallace and Rev. John W. Puerner and Margaret Kornash. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
