Joan Marie Lindstrom

Joan M. Lindstrom, 69, Wausau, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 29, 1940 in the town of Oasis, daughter of the late Glenn and Lena (Fischer) Trickey. On December 3, 1960 she married Fred Reid in Plainfield. They owned and operated, with family, Empire Farms in Plainfield. On July 12, 1993, she married David Lindstrom. He survives. Joan was an avid reader and worked as the librarian at the Plainfield Public Library (1980 - 1990) and as a librarian at the Portage County Library (1991 - 1993). She was a teacher's aide for the Wausau School District (1995 - 1998). In recent years she and her husband, Dave, worked as bailiffs for the Marathon County Court House. Joan also enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Dave, Wausau; children, Brian Reid (partner Brett Brenner), Washington D.C., Daniel (Marie) Reid, Plainfield and Lisa (Wayne) Michlig, Wausau; step-children, Sandra (Steve) Marshall, Wentzville, Missouri and Keri Lindell, San Francisco, Calif.; grandchildren, Clayton, Darin, Lyle, Sophie, Lena, Johanna and Gabrielle; sisters, Shirley Saloun, Wauwatosa, Beverly (Tom) Wright, Stevens Point, Donna (Lou) Jacoboski, Fairfield, Ohio and Diane (Stan) Hamilton, Boise, Idaho and other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Downie. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
