Joan Marie (Aschebrook) Damerell

Joan M. Damerell, 92, Wausau, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home, under the care of Compassus Hospice.

She was born December 16, 1932 in Wausau, daughter of the late Gustav and Myrtle (Kwiatkowski) Aschebrook.  On August 13, 1952, she married Charles Damerell in South Carolina.

For many years, Joan worked in the office at Marathon Electric Corp. and also owned and operated a local craft store.  Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed crafting and camping.

Survivors include, two children, Steven (Cheryl) Damerell, Mosinee and Ann (Larry) Holzem, Wausau; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara Marshall, Merrill.

Besides her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Hendler; infant daughter, Mary Ellen; and four siblings.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
