Joan M. Burns

Joan M. Burns 53, Mosinee, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was born October 2, 1958 in Wausau, daughter of Richard Burns and the late Janet (Woytasik) Burns. On February 13, 1981 she married Dennis Schmoll in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2009. Joan was employed at Featherstone Cabinetry as a lead engineer. Survivors include her daughters, Erica Schmoll (Tim Myers) and Sarah Schmoll (Greg Plawman); father, Richard Burns; significant other, Doug Grosskreutz; siblings, Gail, Mike (Julie) Burns and Jean (Walter) Lashua; nephew, Mickey Burns and niece, Taylor Lashua. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Doug Grosskreutz for being their hero during this difficult time, to John Joseph and the "Featherstone" family for their compassion and support over the last several years and special thanks to Shane for keeping her little azalea alive.
