Jo Ann Ford

Jo Ann Ford 70, Wausau, died Friday, January 12, 2007 surrounded by her loving family at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born May 30, 1936 in North Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late John and Helen (Gesky) Opitz. Jo Ann was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing and needlepoint. For many years, she worked for the Lake County Courthouse in Illinois and the Marathon County Courthouse. Jo Ann was currently employed at Eastbay, Inc., Wausau. Survivors include, one daughter, Joelle Lucas, Wausau; two sons, Kenneth (Lorrie) Lucas, Wausau and Richard (Amy) Lucas, Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Lucas, Kenosha, Lyndy (Jason) Watford, Wausau, Richard Lucas Jr., Green Bay, Bridger Lucas, Wausau, Jeena Lucas, Wausau, Katelynn Lucas, Kensoha, Rachel Lucas, Wausau and Jordan Lucas, Wausau; two great grandchildren, Chase Richard Lee Bennett, Milwaukee and Jasmine Watford, Wausau; three sisters, Betty Lucas, Irma, Marilynn Lahti, Merrill and Janet (Ed) Sternberg, Antioch, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Opitz. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2007 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.
