Jerry J. Kocik

Jerry J. Kocik, 69, Wausau died Friday, February 26, 2016 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. He was born January 29, 1947 in Wausau, son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Martin) Kocik. On September 8, 1979 he married Candy Chilsen at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. She survives. Jerry was a manager at Kmart in Wausau for many years and also worked at Younkers in the Wausau Center Mall. He enjoyed watching all sports on TV, playing cards and cribbage with his family, golfing and fishing but his true passion was setting up decorations in and around the house. He especially enjoyed putting out his Christmas decorations. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife Candy Kocik, Wausau, one son, Clint (Lacey) Kocik, Pewaukee, two grandchildren, Landon and Nolan Kocik, Pewaukee, one brother, Roy (Kathy) Kocik, Wausau, two sisters-in-law, Lana (Steve) Strasman, Merrill and Roxanne (Walter) Kobs, Iola and nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Dan Thelen will preside. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services or Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
