Jerome Arthur Kolbeck, 78, Wausau, died Monday December 7, 2009 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born November 2, 1931 in Wausau, son of the late Arthur and Esther (Meyer) Kolbeck. On November 22, 1952 he married Joan Krueger in Augusta, Ga.
Jerome was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked for IBM, owned and operated Accounting Data, worked at Hoffer Industries and Wausau Tile.
He was a charter founder of the Weston Trap Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, spending time with family, attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, relaxing at the lake house and was an avid card player and poker player, playing with the same group for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joan Kolbeck, Wausau, six children, Jamie (Neal) Treu, Mosinee, Jay (Julie) Kolbeck, Wausau, Jill (Randy) Forer, Weston, Joy (Steve) Henrich, Rothschild, Jeff (Missy) Kolbeck, Wausau, John (Mary Jo) Kolbeck, Wausau, 10 grandchildren, Will Henrich, Katie Henrich, Jessi (Scott) Towle, Kelli Kolbeck, Alex Forer, Megan Forer, Josh Kolbeck, Jacob Kolbeck, Emily Kolbeck and Lydia Kolbeck, two great grandchildren, Nolan and Connor Towle, two sisters, Marian (Myron) Schneiderwent and Audrey (Gordon) Berna.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sons.
A Memorial Mass will be 12:00 noon, Thursday December 10, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass Thursday at the church.
