Jerome B. Jelinski

Jerome "Jerry" B. Jelinski, 73, Schofield died Thursday, March 14, 2013 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at North Central Health Care Center, Wausau. He was born February 18, 1940 in Plover, son of the late Benedict Jelinski and Josephine (Gyrion) Strong. On July 14, 1962 he married Antoinette Kontney at St. Mary Catholic Church, Torun. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife, Toni "Nita" Jelinski, Schofield, his step mother, Lorraine Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids, his four children, LeAnn (Jerry) Boller, Weston, Mark (Aloha) Jelinski, Plainfield, Amy (Peter) Faust, Kronenwetter and Todd (Tim Heschke) Jelinski, Hatley, seven grandchildren, Abigail and Carson Boller, Curtis, Justin and Lance Jelinski and Kaily and Jace Faust, three great grandchildren, Lawson, Nanaleena and Hailey Jelinski. Jerry is further survived by his siblings, Lyon (Ginger) Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids, Carol (Gary) Collins, Rudolph, Rodney (Kathy) Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids, Conrad (Joni) Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids and Debbie (Dale) Simonson, Wautoma, three sisters-in-law, Lillian Babiak, Knowlton, Theresa (Don) Maslowski, Biron and Delphine Kontney, Stevens Point as well as many nieces and nephews and his companion, Scrappy. Jerry was a simple man but he was the rock to our family. Jerry was a plumber for his entire life. His greatest love for fifty years was his wife Toni. Jerry adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always there for them. He was a huge Packer fan and never missed a game. He loved to work in his flower beds and was always there to help his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sidney Faust and a sister, Joyce Finnessy. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Very Rev. Allan Slowiak will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jerry's name.
