Jeffrey "Jeff" James Jones Jr., 38, Wausau, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 15, 2017, following an industrial accident.
He was born December 27, 1978 in Wausau, the son of Jeffrey James Jones Sr. of Mosinee and Patty Weller of Bowler. Jeff attended the Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School and most recently worked at Veritas Steel in Wausau, where he had been employed for the past couple of years.
Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing, especially ice-fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors. Jeff had a very close relationship with his grandparents, whether it be sitting around shooting the breeze or hunting and fishing with Grandpa Lyle. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, friends, three nephews and his dogs "Scruffy" and "Nelly".
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
Survivors include, his parents, Jeff Jones Sr., Mosinee and Patty (Chad) Weller, Bowler; paternal grandmother, Bernice Jones, Wausau; two sisters, Jessica (Keith) Ristow, Marathon and Jackie Gardner (fiance' Andrew Stanecki), Amherst; one brother, Ryan Calhoun, Texas; one step-brother, Tyler Weller, Bowler; one step-sister, Ashley Weller, Bowler; his longtime girlfriend, Monica Galarowicz, Wausau; three nephews, Kasen, Ryan and Vincent; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Ricky Jones; paternal grandfather, Lyle Jones; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Costello.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Wausau Bible Church, Wausau. Rev. Chris Juvinall will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
