Jean E. Stremer

Jean E. Stremer 77, town of Johnson, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at her home. She was born January 16, 1930 in Marathon County, daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Schroeder) Belanger. On October 1, 1949, she married Victor Stremer in Athens. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1989. Jean farmed with her husband, Victor, in the town of Johnson for many years. She worked as a baker for George's Restaurant in Wausau, until her retirement. Among her many interests, she enjoyed baking, fishing, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include, one daughter, Sue (Ken) Riehle, Athens; one son, Ted Stremer, Weston; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Stremer, Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Allison (Nick) Empey, Green Bay, Michael (Jesse) Stremer, Stafford, Va., Kristin (fiancAC. Micah) Riehle, Manitowoc, Matthew (Cassie) Stremer, Eau Claire, Heather (fiancAC. Chris) Riehle, Waukesha and Nick Stremer, New Brighton, Minn.; two brothers, Lyle (Donna) Belanger, Athens and Wayne (Geri) Belanger, Holcombe; and one sister, Myra Boneske, Athens. Besides her parents and husband, Victor, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Stremer; two sisters, Fern Baumann and Beverly Belanger; and one brother, Benjamin Belanger. The funeral mass will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.
