Janice L. Straub

Janice L. Straub, age 66, of Wausau, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, under the compassionate care of Compassus Hospice at Sylvan Crossings on Evergreen.

Janice was born on July 23, 1959, in Wausau, the daughter of the late Gerald and Luella (Thurs) Straub.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with her twelve nieces and nephews, faithfully attending their activities, milestones, and celebrations as they grew. In her younger years, Janice also enjoyed crafts and needlework, pursuits that reflected her patience and creativity.

Janice is survived by her siblings: Sue (John Hutchinson) Behling, Linda (Don) Patterson, Diane (Bill) Petersen, and Dave (Laura) Straub; as well as her brother-in-law, Jerry Hetzel. She is further survived by her twelve nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Hetzel.

Private funeral services will be held.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Compassus Hospice, Sylvan Crossings, Browns Living, and Oak Heights for the exceptional care and kindness Janice received during her illness.
