Janet M. (Ziech) Zastrow

Janet M. Zastrow, 72, Wausau passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

She was born April 27, 1949, in Wausau, daughter of the late Reinhold and Gladys (Mcgonigal) Ziech.  On September 3, 1968, she married Garry Zastrow at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau.  He preceded her in death on June 26, 2009.

In her earlier years Janet drove bus for the City of Wausau.  After her children were born, she stayed home to raise them and was a proud homemaker.  Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, especially Karen, cooking, having company around the fire and grilling out hot dogs.

Survivors include her children, Scott Zastrow, Wausau, Karen Zastrow, Weston and Steve (Amanda) Zastrow, Wausau, one grandson, Jadden Knetter, her siblings, Lenny (Denise) Ziech, Merrill, Robert Ziech, Wausau, Jim Ziech, Oklahoma, Mary (Dave) Kitsemble, Schofield, Sandy (Tony) Milanowski, Hatley and Marie Johnson, LaCrosse and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sheridan (Leroy), Wayne, and Arlene Hanke, and her brother and sister in law Ron Johnson and Sharon Ziech.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.  Private family burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
