Janet Bergman

Janet "Tubby" Bergman 55, Marathon, died Saturday February 23, 2008 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born March 23, 1952, in Medford, daughter of the late Emil and Esther (Stevens) Viergutz. On April 19, 1969, she married Richard Bergman at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He survives. Tubby was employed at Marathon Cheese as supervisor. She was enthusiastic about her job and the 38 years she spent with the Marathon Cheese team. Tubby found the good in everyone, and was a friend to many. Among her favorite things to do were, visiting with her grandchildren and grand dogs, traveling, taking an occasional trip to the casino and working on the computer. She was an avid Packers fan and also enjoyed bowling and playing Scrabble. Survivors include her husband, Richard Bergman, Marathon, three children, Dale (friend Aimee) Bergman, Athens, Christina (Chadwick) Stelzl, Plano, Tex., Scott (fiance', Molly) Bergman, Shakopee, Minn., three grandchildren, Cole, Keegan and Gwen Bergman, grand dogs, Stewart, Chipper and Eva, six sisters, Judy (Don) Gustin, New London, Marianne (Jim) Zarling, Omro, Julie (Richard) Birkholz, Medford, Jan Krueger, Schofield, Gloria Knippel, Schofield, Flo (Dean) Goulet, Colfax, a sister-in-law, Carolyn Viergutz, Marshall, Va., four brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Viergutz, Bartow, Fla., Milt (Kay) Viergutz, Marshfield, Ralph (Lisa) Viergutz, Chula Vista, Cal., Don Viergutz, Colby and her step-father, Don Clark, Colby. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Viergutz. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Weds. February 27, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
