Janet G. Abel, 85, went to the place Jesus said He would prepare for us. She died peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2012 at her home from natural causes.
Janet was born on April 17, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late Benjamin and Victoria (Groshek) Blarek.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Pierschalla, whom she married in 1943 and also preceded in death by her second husband, Richard Abel, whom she married in 1970.
Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed growing flowers and always had a bountiful, well kept garden. She prepared delicious meals complete with homemade bakery. Janet loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. She always kept a special house pet, the latest of which, was her kitty "Sunday", who survives.
Janet is survived by two children, John (Brenda) Pierschalla, Merrill and Elaine (James) Wysocki, Mosinee; five grandchildren, Laurie (Pat) Washburn, Mosinee, Michael Wysocki, Mosinee, Lisa (Chris) Krzewina, Rothschild, Jessica Zastrow-Pierschalla, Merrill and Shawn (Carrie) Pierschalla, Merrill; six great grandchildren, Jason and Nicole Wysocki, Christopher Krzewina, Jesse and Jonnie Zastrow and Emilie Pierschalla; three sisters, Dorie Witter, Schofield, Regina Burns, Florida and Lorraine (Jim) Schiedemeyer, Menomonee Falls; one brother, Floyd (Sharon) Blarek, Florida; three step-children, Cheryl Baumgardt, Weyauwega, John Abel, Denver, Colo. and Mike Abel, Wausau; and two special step-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Abel.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Litzer; one son-in-law, Robert Litzer; one grandson, Jimmy Wysocki; and one brother-in-law, Louie Witter.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
