Jane A. Mattox
51, Athens, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1956 in Marshfield, daughter of Lloyd Bunkelman and the late Carmeletta (Schreiber) Bunkelman. On October 9, 2004 she married Russell Mattox at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He survives.
Jane had been employed at Weather Shield and after 30 years of living in Milan she moved to Athens to become the farm wife she always wanted to be. In her spare time she loved to ride her Harley, she also had a love for animals and was a 4H Leader focusing in dairy and sheep.
Survivors include her husband, Russell; father, Lloyd Bunkelman; son, Ben Jahnke, all of Athens; stepchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Kitts, Knoxville, Tenn., Sharon Mattox, Scottsville, Mark Mattox, both of Scottsville, Ky. and Sherman (Sherri) Kirk, Bowling Green, Ky.; sisters, Mary (Bruce) Faulkner, Athens and Rita (Rusty)Shoquist, St. Croix; brothers, Tom (Florine) Bunkelman, Edgar, Jim (Carol) Bunkelman, Athens, Bob (Deanna) Bunkelman, Excelsior and Matthew (Lucy) Bunkelman, Medford; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 312 Caroline St., Athens and again from 11 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church. There will be a 7:45 p.m. prayer service Wednesday at the funeral home.
