James "Jim" J. Spatz, 60, Wausau, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Critical Care Unit.
He was born August 29, 1953 in Wausau, son of Delores (Golembiewski) Spatz and the late Cecil Spatz. On September 16, 1978 he married the love of his life Barbara J. Seeger at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau.
He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam era as a radio operator. Jim previously worked for Able Plumbing and Heating as a driver. Later he drove truck for Kolbe and Kolbe Millwork and also served as dispatcher along with many other office positions.
Jim was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and cooking, especially during deer hunting with his family. Above all he loved spending time with his wife and two children and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Spatz, Wausau; children, Jeffrey J. (Cara) Spatz, Weston and Sarah (fiancAC. Adam Weller) Spatz, Wausau; his mother, Delores Spatz, Kronenwetter; sisters, Nanette Spatz, Plano, Texas, and Nadine (Randy) Punke, Marshfield; brother, Richard (Karen) Spatz, Mosinee, and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from Noon until the time of services all at the church.
