James J. Siburt, 83, Wausau, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Veterans Home in King, WI.
Jim was born on February 14, 1927, in Farmer City, Ill to the late James E. and Martha (Daniels) Siburt. He was raised in Decatur, Illinois where he met and married the love of his life, Virginia M. Cole on November 30, 1947. Together they raised a family and lived in Wausau for over 44 years.
Jim served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for the Railroad Express Agency for 31 years and was an agent of the Wausau office until 1975. He later worked for the former Crestline Windows until his retirement.
Jim was happiest when he was sitting in his boat with a fishing pole in his hands. He enjoyed wood carving, painting, and later in life a trip to the casino. He loved his family dearly and his wife, children and grandchildren were the light of his life.
Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia; five daughters, Linda Hardwick, Alpine, TX., Carol and Jerry Uecker, Sheboygan, Barb and Jim Brodjieski, Wausau, Sandy and Steve VanAsten, Kaukauna, Debbie Siburt and special friend, Dean Fehr, Tomahawk; one daughter-in-law, Beth Siburt, Sheboygan; 13 grandchildren, Christi Clifford, Alpine, TX., Heath and Mandy Hardwick, Midland, Tx., Ken and Stacy Uecker, Neenah, Steve and Ruth Uecker, Sheboygan, James and Sue Brodjiecki, Tomah, Brenda and Keith Berens, and Pam Brodjieski and special friend Amanda Greene, all of Wausau, Samantha Kerswill, Appleton, Jenna Kerswill, Kaukauna, Adam Siburt, Justin Siburt, Jaline Siburt and James Siburt, all of Sheboygan; and 12 great-grand-children; Three sisters, Joan Binder, Palm Springs, CA, Nova York, Decatur, Ill., Marjorie Wheeler, San Benito, TX; and two sister-in-laws.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Robert Siburt; his only son, James A. Siburt; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Schultz.
Private funeral services will be held at the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King, Wisconsin.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
