James V. Schuster, 75, Wausau, died Sunday, February 26, 2017 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home.
He was born August 26, 1941 in Wausau, son of the late Victor and Evelyn (Rader) Schuster. On November 26, 1960 he married Mary Ann Gillis at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She survives.
James served his country in the United States Marines. He worked as a truck mechanic and retired as a bus mechanic from Wausau Area Transit. In his younger years, he enjoyed fixing radios, televisions and could tell a mechanical problem just by listening to the sound of it. He was also known to take on big projects like building custom garages. Some of his other hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting and leather crafting. He loved his Lionel Train Set but above all he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, Wausau; children, Barbara (Thomas) Majewski, Sun Prairie, Steven Schuster, Wausau, Debra (Steven) Arendt, Green Bay and Michelle (Kenneth) Pozorski, Kronenwetter; grandchildren, Rebecca Majewski, Sun Prairie, Colin and Ryan Pozorski, both of Kronenwetter, Brodie, Brennan, both of Green Bay; siblings, Bette (Richard) Gajewski, Wausau, Mary Lou (Peter) Albert, Wautoma, Nancy (Dale) Matis, Marathon, Joan (Michael) Alters, Wausau and Tim (Bernice) Schuster, Tripoli.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Schuster.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Robert Schaller will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

Also a thank you to honorary members of the family, Shawna and Shane Finnegan for being such a special part of our lives throughout the years.
